Connecticut man sentenced in Northeast Kingdom drug conspiracy

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Connecticut man has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison in connection with running a drug operation in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.

Federal authorities say Marvin Byrd, of Hartford, Connecticut, was sentenced on Friday to 35 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, including fentanyl.

Officials say that Byrd– who went by the name “T.J.” in Vermont– conspired with Britny Parris, 34, of Barton, and others to distribute drugs in and around Orleans County between at least March and August of last year.

Parris was awaiting sentencing.
