Authorities offer reward for info on bald eagle found shot in Bridport

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Federal authorities are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information on who shot a bald eagle found in Addison County last month.

State and federal wildlife officials responded Oct, 15 to reports of a dead adult bald eagle near East Street in Bridport. An investigation determined the bird had been hit with shotgun pellets.

Bald eagles are a protected species at the federal and state levels with fines of up to $100,000.
