BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Police now believe two concerning incidents near the University of Vermont were unrelated.
Police are investigating two incidents– one described as an attempted sexual assault and the other as a suspicious encounter.
The assault happened near the UVM campus, where Burlington police say a man tackled a woman and tried to rip off her clothes.
The second incident involved a suspicious man on the UVM campus who ran away when police tried to detain him.
Investigators initially weren’t sure if the two incidents were linked, but UVM Police said Thursday that they now believe the incidents are not related.
The investigation is still underway. Anyone with information is asked to call the UVM Police at 802-656-3473.
