N.H. officials warn of E-ZPass scam texts

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – We have a scam alert for you to be aware of.

There are bad actors impersonating New Hampshire E-ZPass.

Drivers can use E-ZPass to pay tolls on certain roads without having to stop and count quarters.

However, New Hampshire’s attorney general says scammers use the E-ZPass logo to target residents.

Scammers are texting residents that they have an outstanding invoice with E-ZPass threatening late fees.

Officials say E-ZPass never contacts New Hampshire residents by text message.
