Celebrate Vermont Arts and Crafts Festival underway

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A long-running Vermont craft show has been brought back to life.

The Vermont Hand Crafters group announced last year they would dissolve, effectively ending their decades-long Craft Vermont Fine Craft and Art Show.

The show was resurrected this year as Celebrate Vermont by Starbird Events and 802 Arts House. Many of the over 120 vendors have returned from the previous iteration of the show.

The event’s Cheryl Robbins–Dooley says that supporting local artists is vital to the economy and keeping money in the region. “Support local and regional artists, craftsmakers, and specialty food producers. This is how they make their livelihood. Some of these people have been in business for over 50 years,” she said.

She says they hope to make next year’s show even bigger, increasing the total number of exhibitors and including more artisans from across New England.

It takes place at the DoubleTree in South Burlington on Friday 11-7, Saturday 10-5, & Sunday 10-4. Tickets are $12. or $15. for a weekend pass.
