Police say Burlington man threatened hospital workers

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (WCAX) – Police arrested a Burlington man who they say threatened hospital staffers and told them he had a gun.

It happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday at the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Brattleboro police were called to a report of a man threatening workers who said he had a gun.

Investigators say they arrested Mark Mahardy, 58, at the scene. They did not find a gun.

Mahardy faces charges of assault on a protected official. He’s due in court on Monday.
