Ben & Jerry’s employees reach union agreement

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Ben and Jerry’s ice cream workers have ratified their first union contract.

The employees at the St. Albans and Waterbury plants are members of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 371 Union.

The new contract allows workers into the union’s health insurance plan, promising 14% wage increases over 3 years with a 16% jump between now and April.

It also moves towards a changed shift pattern for better work-life balance.
