Fletcher Free Library keeps doors open for Thanksgiving

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – People without a table to visit can get out of the cold at the Fletcher Free Library.

While government offices and many businesses are closed, Fletcher is keeping their doors open.

The library will be open from 12 to 4 on Thanksgiving offering people a warm place to gather, read, or just be thankful.

Staff is handing out pre-packaged to-go meals prepared by the farmhouse group.

Those are first come first served and hand-out began yesterday.

The library on College Street is a resource hub for residents, families, and the unhoused.

The library director says they see how important a warm place to gather can be – especially on the holidays.

If you’re looking for a hot meal, the Turning Point Center is hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner starting at 1.

The Fletcher Free Library will also be open for limited service on Christmas day.
