HARTFORD, Vt. (WCAX) – A German Shepherd is recovering after jumping out of the bed of a pickup truck driving on I-89 in Hartford.
Vermont State Police say it happened on Friday a little after 5:30pm.
Police say a car hit the dog after the jump, and the dog sustained life-threatening injuries.
Someone nearby rushed the dog to Save’s Emergency Care in Lebanon.
The truck was described as possibly a dark blue GMC, with plywood railings attached to the bed, and other debris in the bed.
The Vermont State Police is requesting the driver of the truck contact them as soon as possible.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
