NH Executive Council to consider youth mental health care contract

CONCORD, N.H. (WCAX) – The Executive Council in New Hampshire this week will consider a long-term solution for youth mental health care.

Gov. Chris Sununu says the state purchased Hampstead Hospital in 2022 to bolster mental health care services for children.

A new contract proposes Dartmouth Health would operate the facility, providing inpatient psychiatric care, residential treatment services and more.

In a statement, the governor called it a win-win opportunity that ensures world-class care while saving the state millions of dollars every year.
