Secretary of State to audit election results

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Secretary of State Sarah Copeland-Hanzas will audit the general election results on Tuesday.

Seven randomly selected towns will be included in this year’s audit.

Those are Bennington, Burke, Canaan, Dorset, Pawlet, Vergennes, and Winooski.

After the November 5 election, all cast ballots were sealed and held in town clerks’ vaults.

On Tuesday, every ballot from the seven precincts and every race up for a vote will be audited.

That process starts at 9 a.m., and the public can watch remotely here.
