SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – More than 100 acres of land in South Burlington’s largest natural area is now permanently protected.
South Burlington city officials and the Vermont Land Trust announced on Wednesday that the Wheeler Nature Park is being conserved to safeguard the park as a community resource.
The land includes wetlands, streams and woods that are home to wildlife. The new conservation effort will keep the land open for recreation and education. Project leaders say it will also protect the property’s biodiversity and water resources.
