BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The COTS Christmas tree sale is back at Burlington’s City Market locations for the 27th year.
The Christmas trees are locally grown at a farm in Craftsbury.
All trees are $60 and the proceeds go to COTS which provides shelter space and long term housing for formerly homeless people.
Plus, the Intervale Foundation plants a tree in the wetlands for every Christmas tree sold.
“It’s the win, win, win,” Jonathan Farrell of COTS said. “I mean it’s just it touches so many different levels of of helping in the community, right? So the money stays in the state, it’s all local, it goes back to good causes like us and taking care of the Earth that supports us.”
The downtown City Market sold out of trees in three days. The South End location started sales on Friday.
