N.Y. woman pleads guilty to embezzling from local union

KENMORE, N.Y. (WCAX) – A New York woman pleads guilty to embezzling from a union representing workers in our region.

Authorities say 60-year-old Leticia Russi-Shareno of Kenmore, New York embezzled about $36,000 from the Local 2076 of the American Federation of Government Employees.

She served as president of the union’s local faction and used the union debit card to make atm withdrawals for personal expenses.

She faces up to 20 years behind bars and a fine of up to a quarter million dollars. She will be sentenced in May.
