BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont residents enjoyed cookies and holiday carols with Senator Bernie Sanders.
Senator Sanders hosted two public holiday parties in Burlington and Vergennes on Friday afternoon.
At the party in Burlington, guests enjoyed Christmas music from high school and Edmunds middle school students, enjoyed food and hot chocolate, and connected with other residents, something Senator Sanders says is key around this time of year.
“There’s a lot to like about the modern world but we have some problems, and one of the problems we have is the sense of community of people coming together that I think we used to have… just try to bring people together to have a good time to enjoy the holiday season,” said Sanders.
Sanders will also host gatherings on Saturday in Bennington and Rutland.
