ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – The town of St. Johnsbury is celebrating their downtown, after they had to cancel the party last weekend.
This is the fourth year, the town of St. Johnsbury put on their St. J Sparkles! event.
Hundreds of locals and visitors went to the welcome center to enjoy fireworks on Friday night.
Followed by a model train station, horse-drawn wagon rides, games and downtown shopping specials on Saturday
Organizers with Discover St. Johnsbury say after the statewide manhunt last weekend, the town really needed a place to feel a sense of community.
“The community counts on these opportunities to get together. We love providing free opportunities for children to experience all of this fun and holiday magic,” Gillian Sewake of Discover St. Johnsbury said.
