Education report gives first look at funding need

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A new report outlines challenges facing Vermont’s education system, and what it could mean for your taxes next year.

The Commission on the Future of Public Education in Vermont released a report detailing Vermont’s education finance.

The report informs the legislature about the state of education ahead of the 2025 session where education funding reform and property taxes will be at the forefront.

Earlier this month we told you property taxes are expected to rise almost 6% next year down from a whopping 13.8% last year.
