BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Flood relief funding is on its way to Vermont after a disaster aid bill gets the President’s stamp of approval.
The aid was lumped in with a government funding bill that President Biden signed over the weekend, narrowly avoiding a government shutdown.
Closer to home, people in our region will see a piece of the $100 billion disaster aid bill to recover from the summer’s flooding.
An additional $10 million is earmarked as agricultural assistance for farmers – something Senator Peter Welch says is big.
“We need them – we need them to be able to keep farming, we need it for Vermont and we need it to show respect for our farmers. This is going to be a huge impact for Vermont,” said Welch.
The American relief act funds the government through mid march of next year.
