BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont Burlesque Festival returns for its 12th year in January with events planned in Burlington and in Central Vermont. But this year could be its last year in Burlington.
Festival organizers say the event costs more than $80,000 to put on, and ticket sales are down. They surveyed their followers to find out why.
“The overwhelming answer was yes, there are concerns for going downtown for various reasons,” said Cory Royer of the Vermont Burlesque Festival.
If the festival continues next year, Royer says it will be on a much smaller scale.
You can learn more about that and what to expect at the shows this year on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on “You Can Quote Me” on WCAX.
