Man facing charges after allegedly attacking, robbing 63-year-old man

BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – One man is in custody after allegedly attacking and robbing a 63-year-old man.

Barre police say it happened around 1p.m. this afternoon.

A 63-year-old man left a business of North Main St. when he was followed to his car by 33-year-old Carlos Perez.

Perez allegedly asked the man for money, and when he refused, threw him to the ground and ran off with his wallet. The man sustained a minor head injury.

A Montpelier police officer later found Perez outside a business in Berlin and took him into custody without issue. Officials also found .2 Grams of crack cocaine in his possession.

Bail is set at $3500, and Perez is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
