SANDGATE, Vt. (WCAX) – Authorities Friday identified the two people who died in a New Year’s Day fire in Bennington County.
Police say one of the victims in the Sandgate fire was a newborn, only 12 days old. They say after a fire overtook their home, 22-year-old Nicole Grogan and her son, Oliver Stratton, died.
Police say the two surviving victims remain hospitalized in New York.
They are also still looking into a possible cause of the fire.
