ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) – The state of New York is cracking down on drunk drivers.
The New York DMV says that starting Friday it is implementing a new regulation called ‘Forefeit after Four.”
The changes also allow for permanent license denial after three alcohol- or drug-related driving convictions or incidents plus one or more other serious driving offenses. Previously, drivers would face license denial after five incidents.
The DMV can now also deny re-licensure depending on the severity of charges.
