ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) – After a record-breaking fire season in the Empire State, drought warnings are finally lifted.
All New York counties are now back at normal status after assessing precipitation and water levels.
Some localized dry conditions may still last and the Department of Environmental Conservation asks you to reduce unnecessary water use.
That includes collecting water from rain barrels or dehumidifiers to water plants, fixing leaky pipes or faucets, washing laundry only when full, and taking shorter showers.
