PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – A northern New York man will serve eight years in prison in connection with a child sexual abuse case.
Clinton County authorities say Dustin Hooper, 36, was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty back in November to sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl.
“This young girl showed tremendous courage by coming forward to end the abuse. Hopefully this will bring her and her family some closure,” Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie said in a statement.
In addition to prison, the judge required Hooper to register as a sex offender, ordered a 10-year post-release supervision plan, and fined him over $3,000.
