Net-zero electrification incentives offered to Burlington residents

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – New incentives are coming to help Queen City residents go electric.

Burlington Electric and city officials Wednesday announced enhanced rebates for electric vehicles, bikes, lawnmowers, heat pumps, and other devices intended to get Burlington closer to its net-zero energy ambitions. There are also new rebates for low-income residents.

“To continue offering new and continuing to update our current incentives at a time when the federal government could be stepping back from its commitment,” said Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak.

BED is also working to pilot a home battery storage system along with credits for using heat pumps.
