BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) — Milton high schoolers now have a space to explore different interests hands-on. Milton High School staff officially opened the Milton Innovation Center on Thursday.
It’s been years in the works, and the project was almost canceled in 2023 when PCBs were found in the room’s floor paint. Now, students are ready to start hands-on learning this next semester.
Packed with different tools for things like 3d printing, computer programs, and hands-on building, students will get the chance to learn and explore new technical skills.
“Some of them might think they want to go into engineering, and then come into this space and start doing some of that work and say ‘eh, that’s really not for me, but I have discovered that I’m passionate about this or good at this, and this is where I want to take my career,” said Superintendent Amy Rex.
Milton High School says this innovation center was an effort led by students to create more pathways for other students with work-based learning opportunities.
