SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A home in South Burlington was damaged in a fire Saturday night.
The South Burlington Fire Department released a statement Sunday morning, stating that around 9:58 p.m. on Saturday, a person called 911 saying there was smoke at their home at 80 Long Drive.
When firefighters got there seven minutes later, they found no signs of smoke or fire from outside of the single-family home. After going inside, they found light smoke and could hear wood burning within a wall on the second floor.
Crews were able to put out the fire and the fire marshal determined it was accidental, caused by combustible materials being too close to a heat source.
No one was hurt in the fire.
