7 arrested following gun incidents in St. Albans, Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – Authorities are investigating two related gunfire incidents in St. Albans and Middlebury Saturday night.

St. Albans Police say it started around 9:18 p.m. after reports that a home had been shot at. Police say a window was hit but that no one was injured.

The investigation then led to Middlebury, where police say shots were fired behind the Hannaford supermarket around 11:20 p.m.

The suspected car was tracked down to the Abbey Pond Trail in Middlebury, where Middlebury Police say they arrested one adult and six juveniles, all of whom were later released. Police say they also recovered two guns from the car.

Police say one of the juveniles was reported as a runaway and had stolen the car from a family member.

The incident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
