Does Trump have authority to reverse TikTok ban?

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – TikTok was briefly taken away from the American public over the weekend. But 24 hours later, the social media app was back after pressure from incoming President Trump.

President Trump on Monday then signed an executive order delaying the law passed by Congress that banned TikTok because of its connections to China. The delay could give the app’s parent company, ByteDance, more time to find a neutral buyer.

John McMahon spoke with Jared Carter, a constitutional expert with the Vermont Law and Graduate School, about the prospects for the popular app.
