Social service organizations carry out the annual tally on Wednesday.
The Point in Time – or PIT – count collects data on unsheltered people in the region.
It is supposed to determine the total number of people experiencing homelessness on a single night.
Organizers say it’s an important effort to help the community determine needs and create better plans to help homeless people.
The count gets underway Wednesday morning, weather permitting.
