Vt. tax forms to include wildlife donation option

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermonters have a way to give back to more than just the government this tax season.

Vermont Fish and Wildlife is highlighting the state’s nongame wildlife fund.

On your Vermont state income tax form, there’s an option to easily donate to the fund. That money helps conserve and restore at-risk wildlife in Vermont.

The program has been in effect since the 1980s and the department says it has helped save animals on the brink of extinction in Vermont, such as the common loon and peregrine falcon.

Tax day this year is April 15.
