NY driver will not face charges from fatal pedestrian crash

PERU, N.Y. (WCAX) – Police say a Clinton County driver will not face charges stemming from a fatal pedestrian crash last fall.

It happened on the afternoon of October 2 at the intersection of Brand Hollow Road and Route 22 in Peru.

New York State Police say Cynthia Murphy, 56, of Millbrook, was crossing the road around 4:30 when she was hit by Rachel Dumas, 28, of Peru. Murphy died at the scene.

Police on Monday said their investigation found the collision was accidental and no charges are warranted.
