ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) – A day after President Trump’s brinksmanship over Canadian tariffs, New York Governor Kathy Hochul met with Canadian counterparts Tuesday to talk trade.
“The trade relationship is critical. And the amount of trade — I don’t think people can appreciate how that impacts the cost of living in a place like New York — and certainly in Canada — but I have to be laser-focused on what’s happening to New Yorkers,” Hochul said.
The governor says depending on what happens in Washington, it’s important to maintain relationships with Canada to maintain affordability for both countries.
