BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A New York woman was sentenced Tuesday for defrauding several Vermont car dealerships.
Federal authorities say Madison Carrig, 30, of Whitehall, pleaded guilty to embezzling $140,000 from three dealerships she worked at between September 2022 and November 2023. That includes embezzling cash receipts and using company credit cards to buy herself goods and services.
She’ll now pay that back in restitution and spend four months behind bars.
