St. Albans man pleads not guilty in dog neglect case

ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – A St. Albans man has pleaded not guilty to charges of animal cruelty.

St. Albans police say Kyle Gratton, 34, last month abandoned his 1.5-year-old dog Hank in an apartment with no heat, food, or water for an extended period of time. Authorities say the Rottweiler lost 77 pounds before being rescued.

Gratton was released on conditions, including that he does not live in a home with any animals.

He’s s due back in court in July.
