DUMMERSTON, Vt. (WCAX) — Another Vermonter was hurt in the wake of the winter storm from Tuesday night.
A 70-year-old woman in Dummerston was badly injured when a structure on her property collapsed on her. It happened Wednesday morning after 10:30 a.m. on Old Ferry Road as she and her husband were working to dismantle a house trailer on their property. The roof gave way, trapping the woman under the debris.
First responders arrived at the scene within minutes and were able to get her out and provide emergency care. She was taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, but was transported by helicopter to a trauma hospital in New Hampshire for further treatment.
