BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Burlington man will serve nearly three years in federal prison for a 2022 bank robbery.

U.S. District Court Judge Christina Reiss on Monday sentenced Malik Pratt, 26, to 35 months in prison following his guilty plea.

According to court records, Pratt robbed the People’s United Bank on North Avenue on the morning of March 1, 2022. Police say he threatened to shoot bank tellers and demanded cash. He made off with $1,316 but was identified and arrested a little over two weeks later.

The judge also ordered Pratt to pay restitution to the bank for the amount stolen.
