MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont lawmaker is accused of driving under the influence.
Police say when they pulled over Bennington Rep. Jim Carroll, 62, in Montpelier on Wednesday morning for an excessively loud muffler, they noticed signs of alcohol impairment.
Police say the Democrat refused sobriety tests but failed the breathalyzer.
Carroll was arrested and is due in court next month.
