Amber Alert canceled for NH girls; police investigating Berlin death

BERLIN, N.H. (WCAX) – New Hampshire Authorities have canceled an amber alert for two young girls but continue to investigate a suspicious death in Berlin, New Hampshire.

Police Friday morning around 10:30 a.m. canceled the amber alert for 13-month-old Vaelyn Duren and 4-year-old Elowyn Duren, saying the girls were located and are safe.

Police had issued the alert, believing the girls had been abducted by their father, 36-year-old Dustin Duren, in Berlin, New Hampshire on Thursday.

There were no immediate details on where the girls were found.

It comes as police are investigating a suspicious death in Berlin. Police responded around 10:30 p.m. to an apartment at 1063 Main Street and said they discovered the body of Caitlyn Naffziger, 31.

Police say Duren was driving a white, 2017 Subaru Impreza 4-door sedan with NH Veteran registration V69023.

Duren is considered armed and dangerous. Police urge anyone who sees him to not approach and call 911 immediately.
