BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Folks in the Burlington area might notice some extra noise at the airport this week, part of military training happening in the region
Several F-22s out of the Langley Air Force Base in Virginia are joining the F-35s with the Vermont Air National Guard 158th Fighter Wing. Officials say the combined training is a part of their night drills and an opportunity to practice real-life missions where they would work together.

“Everything we do is practicing for real life. We are trying to train our pilots to be ready for anything that they need to be called to do around the world at any moment,” said VTANG’s Col. Michael Blair.
Most of their training will happen at night, with some flights expected Thursday and then again next Tuesday through Thursday. The training will end by 9 p.m. each day.
