
BETHEL, Vt. (WCAX) – Police say the investigation continues into a high-speed crash that left a Vermont trooper with critical injuries.
Friday, Cpl. Eric Vitali rear-ended a parked fire engine on Interstate 89 in Bethel while traveling to a training in Waterbury.
Vitali was airlifted to the hospital, where Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center officials say they can’t release his current condition.
There’s still no word on the cause of the crash. State police say investigations like this can take more than a month.
