
FAIRLEE, Vt. (WCAX) – Two people escaped serious injuries in a hot air balloon accident this evening in Fairlee.
The balloon became stuck in a tree about thirty feet from the ground while attempting to land.
One rider was able to climb down a safety rope while the other rider became entangled in the balloon’s apparatus.
Multiple departments responded to the scene and used a ladder truck to get the entangled operator to safety.
The riders were taken to the hospital as a precautionary and sustained no serious injuries.
