WEST HAVEN, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont State Police say a Benson woman faces charges of threatening after a road rage incident involving a firearm on Sunday.

It happened at about 3:45 p.m. on VT Route 22A in West Haven.

Police say Cynthia Knipes, 54, of Benson, was driving south on 22A when Izabel Cushing, 20, of West Rutland, and Isaac Merrill, 21, of Benson, tried to pass her. Investigators say Knipes tried to block Merrill’s car, not letting him get by, and then displayed a gun in a threatening manner.

Troopers issued Knipes a citation to appear in court on May 6 on a charge of criminal threatening.
