BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Burlington business says police left staff to fend for themselves after their restaurant was vandalized.
THORN + ROOTS owners say a person approached their restaurant Saturday night, throwing a patio chair at their front window. Several employees were closing up the restaurant when the window shattered. They called Burlington police, who they say directed them to file a police report. Owners say they’re disappointed police didn’t respond to the scene or follow up with staff.
“I think that they definitely need to take a much more aggressive and active approach to these types of calls, not just ‘Go online and file a police report,’” Co-Owner Allen Caruso said.
Caruso says this is the latest of several recent vandalisms of the restaurant. He says he hopes for a more proactive investigation into the incident.
