Man arrested in alleged St. Albans arson

ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – Police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged RV arson in St. Albans.

Vermont State Police say Thomas LaPine, 37, of St. Albans was located on Monday and cited for the incident that happened in January.

Police say on Jan. 24, while a suspicious fire involving an RV was being put out, a nearby home was burglarized. Investigators say LaPine was identified as the suspect by the homeowner. They say LaPine resisted arrest, assaulting both the officer and homeowner.

LaPine was cited and released on the burglary charge.

Now, he has also been cited on the arson charge.

He’s due in court in May.
