PERU, N.Y. (WCAX) – Police in New York are investigating after the body of a woman was found in the town of Peru.
New York State Police says they conducted a welfare check at about 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at a home on Jenkins Street and found the body of a woman inside.
Police are not releasing other details but they are asking anyone who lives in the area to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity.
They say her death doesn’t appear to be a random act of violence but they believe there’s no ongoing threat to the community.
