BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont man pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges in an incident where police say he shot into a home.
Vermont State Police arrested Lucas Gingras, 38, of Fletcher, on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment.
Investigators say on Friday night, Gingras pointed a rifle at a man on Main Road in Huntington. They say he left in his car, and then returned and fired a shot at the house. A woman and a child were inside. Troopers say he returned again later and was making his way to the house, but police arrested him. They say they found a loaded rifle and a crossbow in his car.
Gingras pleaded not guilty in court on Monday. He is being held without bail.
This is the same man who faced prison time after he fooled his girlfriend in a bear-attack hoax in 2014. Police said he got his girlfriend to jump off a cliff after telling her to run to escape from an imaginary bear.
Gingras was charged with attempted murder in that case but later took a plea deal.
