BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Burlington’s new city administration has ideas on how to fix the $13 million budget deficit.
In a draft proposal, the administration has laid out several cost-saving measures to raise the $13.8 million to close the gap. This includes the voter-approved tax increase, using one-time ARPA funds, increasing the hotel tax and raising nonlodging gross receipts. All that along with rightsizing various programs and saving money with position vacancies, plus other tactics.
We’re expecting more details in an official announcement on Tuesday.
