BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont Agency of Agriculture is warning communities about another group of invasive plants.

The fight against foliage is taking on 8 more fronts.

The new plants designated as pests include kudzu, mile-a-minute, Japanese stiltgrass, porcelain berry, wineberry, waterwheel, water hyacinth, and water soldier.

According to the Agency of Agriculture, these species are not native to the state and can pose an ecological or economic threat to Vermont.

This new designation lets the agency regulate how people do things – like selling, transporting, or moving these plants within the state.
