MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – This week’s Pets with Potential includes a dog, cat, and guinea pig available at Homeward Bound in Middlebury.

Hi! My name is Julius. I’m almost 3 years old pooch and I weigh 63 pounds. I have the wiggliest body you can imagine and will whip my tail all around out of excitement. I first came to Homeward Bound as a stray, but was later adopted out to a loving family who happened to live in a very busy area. I grew insecure in the concrete jungle with people everywhere, riding their bikes and skateboards and wearing hats and hoods. It all seemed scary to me.  Shelter staff has helped me work on my insecurities around these triggers and I’ve come far in my training. I will still need further training in my new home and someone who is strong enough to walk me on a leash.

I have previously lived with dogs, but I tend to have a rough play style, and will need proper introductions. I’m housebroken and I stay very focused on my handler during training sessions. I have a lot of energy and would do best in an active home with a fenced-in yard.

My name is Sunny and I am sure to brighten anyone’s day with my charm! I am an 11-year-old Maine Coon.  I enjoy curling up in my bed – a wool cocoon – for a snooze. While I don’t like to be picked up, I do love to snuggle and give kisses. And I love playing with wand toys.  My eyes get really big and I am really good at catching the mouse! I might make a good mouser in your home. I have lived with dogs but I don’t like the cats here at the shelter.

Hey there, I’m Misses, the most preciously sweet-hearted American guinea pig at Homeward Bound! At just one year old, I’m already rocking my adorable calico fur, and trust me, I know how to steal hearts with my cuteness. Sure, I’ve just arrived, but I’m ready to show you what a blast having a guinea pig can be! From munching on veggies and fruits, to enjoying tasty treats, I’m all about that gourmet life. Get ready for some serious fun and cuddles because with me around, there’s never a dull moment!
